7 - Check the Days of the week during which this schedule interval will be valid.  (Click in the checkbox below each day)

Holiday Definition
A holiday is treated differently than other days. It is recommended to program holidays at the beginning of the year; this helps to modify floating holidays for the current year (Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.). A holiday may be identified by a specific type (Hol 1, 2, 3, 4).

1 - From the Definition tab, select the Holiday button. The Holiday window appears.
2 - To create a new holiday, select the new button.
3 - To create a global holiday, proceed with the holiday definition.
4 - Assign a name to the holiday.
5 - From the Date pull-down menu, select a holiday date from the calendar.
6 - Check the Recurring option if this is the case for the holiday you are defining.
NOTE: If the holiday is not a recurring holiday, you will have to reprogram it for the following year. You can program holidays years in advance; but it is recommended to review holidays on a yearly basis.
7 - In the Holiday type section, select the type of the holiday you are defining. This gives you flexibility when defining a holiday.
For example, you may decide that a given day is a holiday for a certain group of users, but it is a regular day for another group.
8 - Click on the + Holiday list button to display a calendar for the next 12 months showing holidays in one of the three colours identified in the legend.
9 - If the holiday is to apply to specific sites only, the Selective Holiday checkbox must be selected.
10 - Drag & drop system, sites or global gateways to the appropriate holiday case. You can also use the buttons to move them.

Kantech Holiday Programming for Users & Schedules:

RULE OF THUMB:
By default, Kantech leaves all "Holiday 1,2,3,4" check boxes blank; this is typically because access doors are to be locked on holidays and User are NOT permitted access during that holiday. So if this is the case, leave the check boxes blank. All doors will be locked on that holiday and no users will have access to the premise (except admin users).

Q: I want my door to remain "unlocked" on a holiday because I'm still open, even though it's a holiday day. How can I do this?

A: Go to the "Schedule" tab, drop down the list of schedules and find the one you want to modify; it should be the schedule associated with that specific door[s]. Place a check on "Hol1". This will ensure your door is left unlocked as per the scheduled times.

Q: I want some of my staff, who have a certain access level, to have access to my facility during a holiday day. How can I grant them access on holidays?

A: Go to the "Schedule" tab, drop down the list of schedules and find the one you want to modify; it should be the schedule associated with that specific staff member (User). Place a check on "Hol1". This will ensure your staff (User) has access as per the scheduled times.
